“set your spirit free”

please let me introduce myself

Welcome to Laurel’s Psyche. Please feel free to find a cozy spot to peruse my site. Maybe you will find solace knowing there is somebody else in this universe that can relate or understand your journey called life. I will share informative topics relating to mental health as well as resources that could aid you in your own personal mental health journeys.

My name is Laurel; I have been married eight years to my amazing husband Allan. We have been together nearly sixteen years. We have a three old son (going on 30) who is an adventurous, smart, fun loving child.

I enjoy getting to know people; who they are; where they came from; their struggles and victories; and what drives their spirit to live their best life. As a counselor-therapist I strive to gain knowledge that empowers the pursuit of self-actualization and ignites the spirit to be set free from the bondage of anxiety, depression, or as I call these mindsets/emotions/feelings The Black Hole.

Career

I am a Licensed School Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, and a National Certified Counselor. I am currently working for my county’s public school system as a Counseling Coordinator assisting students, their families during some of the most difficult times of their lives, as well as educating and working with school staff in relation to mental health.
